This is where you can view and edit certain files on your game server.
FTP
- FTP Control Box - Here you enter the FTP connection information for your server. You will need to add the following:
- User Name - Your FTP user name
- Password - Your FTP password
- Server Directory - The default folder to connect to on your server.
- Local Directory - The default folder on your PC.
The other setting are probably OK left at default. If you have trouble connecting to your server please contact your server provide to check what settings you need to make.
- Save - Save the current server FTP connection information to a file.
- Load - Load FTP connection information from a previously saved file.
- Connect - Connect to a server using the current loaded connection information.
- Close - Close the connection to the server.
- Refresh - Refresh the FTP local and remote file lists.
- Stop - Cancel the current file transfer.
- FTP Local File List - Shows the files and folders in the selected local folder.
- FTP Remote File List - Shows the files and folders in the selected remote folder.
You can drag and drop files between the FTP Local File List and the FTP Remote File List.
You can Upload / Download / Rename / Delete both locally and remotely.
The frames between the FTP Control Box, the FTP Local File List and the FTP Remote File List and be resized.
File Viewer / Editor
With the File Viewer / Editor you can view png image files (PunkBuster screen shots) and you can view / edit text files (txt, log, cfg, use, dat) on your local PC.
- Refresh - Will refresh the File Viewer / Editor file file list.
- Save - Save the edited text. This is saved locally. Any changed made to config file ect that you downloaded will need to be uploaded again after they have been saved.
- File List - The path for the File Viewer / Editor file list is the same as the FTP Local File List. To change the folder for the File Viewer / Editor file list simply change the folder for the FTP Local File List and click the File Viewer / Editor Refresh button.
To view a png image file click on the file name in the File Viewer / Editor file list.
To view / edit a text file double click on the file name in the File Viewer / Editor file list.
If you maximise the RconMax window you will get a bigger view of the currently selected file.
Tips:
The viewing and editing of text files is intended for server and PunkBuster configuration files etc which contain a relatively small amount of data. Opening file which contain large amounts of data like the game log may take a long time depending on the performance of your machine.
