This is where you can make changes which affect the way RconMax works.

RconMax Settings Tab

Updates

  • Check - Checks the RconMax website to see if there is a newer version of RconMax available for you to download. RconMax does not auto update.
  • Get Updates - Starts Internet Explorer and goes to the downloads page at the RconMax website.
  • Auto Update Check Frequency - RconMax automatically checks at start up to see it there is a new version available for download. You can set the frequency in day between checks.

Admin Name

  • Admin Name - This is you name. This can be used as a prefix to console messages that RconMax sends to your server.
  • Use As Message Prefix - When checked the Admin name will be used as a message prefix.

Language

Select the language you would like to use in RconMax.

Currently the available languages include:

  • English
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • French
  • German
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish
  • Swedish

Unfortunately some of these languages are not as complete as others. Where a word of phrase is missing from a language translation the English default will be used.

Data File

RconMax stores certain information like your server auto messages in a data file. If you make a lot of additions / edits / deletes to your auto messages the file will in time increase in size.

  • Maintain - Using this maintain function from time to time will reduce the size of the data file ensuring maximum efficiency.

Import Data

When you get a new version of RconMax inevitably it will include a new (empty) data file. You can use import data to load data from your old data file into your new data file.

  • Auto Messages - Import your auto server messages from a previous version of the RconMax data file.

Create Files

RconMax can create a set of configuration files for use on your game server. These files will be created in your RconMax user folder. Connect to your server, go through the tabs one by one getting the settings from your server and making any changes as requited. Once you have your server set correctly click Server Player and or Weapon as required.

Once you have created the files open them with a plain text editor program like Notepad review the settings.

  • Server - Creates the server.cfg file.
  • Player - Creates the playercontrol.cfg file.
  • Weapon - Creates the weaponcontrol.cfg file.

You may want to make one or two minor changes. When you are happy with the files you will need to upload them to your game server either using your game server control panel or using an FTP program like FileZilla.

Auto Restart

  • Restart At - The time of day at which RconMax should automatically restart.
  • Enable - When checked Auto Restart is enabled.

If RconMax was started using command line arguments (Auto Connect, LCM, Auto Messages) then these arguments will automatically be reapplied when RconMax does an Auto Restart. This works in conjunction with the Silent Start so there are not pop ups requiring to to click OK.

Your RconMax installation needs to be registered for this function to be enabled.

Registration

  • System ID - This is a number that identifies RconMax on the given computer. This ID is required to register your installation of RconMax. We suggest that you copy and paste your id to avoid typing errors.
  • Register - Starts Internet Explorer and goes to the registration page at the RconMax website.

Registering your installation of RconMax enables the Silent Start (no splash screen) , Scheduled Auto Restart, Retro Reader and FTP functions.

Tips: You may need to change the name of the server.cfg file to match the name of the config file used in your games servers command line, or you can change the file name in your command line.

For more help on your game servers command line you should contact your game server provider.
